What Is Mindful Self-Compassion?

We’ve just had a long weekend.

It was lovely in so many ways. And at the same time, this evening I’ve found myself tired and overwhelmed with the list of things I chose not to do this weekend (instead choosing some really enjoyable things like dog walking, playing cards and napping to name a few), leaving a bunch of things to the end of Monday evening. 

I would have liked to forget about them all until tomorrow, but I knew that would not help me to have a week that feels healthy, balanced and successful. So I have trudged through item after item. Until I hit a wall. 

It was then that I realized I needed a bit more support and I thought maybe you might as well.

 

Do you need some self-compassion?

Self-compassion is a concept I have delved into in during my personal development journey. Then last year I had a chance to interview Kristy Arbon about the topic of Mindful Self-Compassion during my Reclaim Your Life Interview Series.

I re-listened to her interview this evening and found myself calming down, feeling more settled, and more focused on both self-compassion and bringing kindness to myself. I now recognize that this weekend has really been about self-care which means that I have more capacity than I had thought that I can draw upon to set this week up for success.
